A bit about
I cut my teeth in print, bringing tech to design and advertising agencies. After working in and managing graphics studios for a number of years, I moved into web development.
My client base became health sector orientated, managing cms driven sites and producing informational and medical study tools.
As the primary carer of my family, my recent engagements in web development have been on a casual/contract basis. My charges are very nearly fledged and I'm actively seeking more work in the field.
Recent projects
CIAP
Up until this year I worked with CIAP (Clinical Information Access Portal - NSW Health) as a part-time / contract web developer and site admin for around 3 years.
The CIAP site is a health professional database and journal access aggregator. It manages thousands of links, information, events and learning modules with their assessments.
- Redesigned and built the site frontend (rwd css, bootstrap, vue js, built with jekyll).
- Managed the backend deployment (migrated to azure devops pipelines, deploying to aws terraform managed infrastructure).
- Migrated the hosting environment from a shared, to dedicated red hat servers, to gov dc virtual hosts, to aws serverless environment.
- Implemented an azure devops git repo to deploy staff site edits.
- Developed a proof of concept app for ios and android using vue js and cordova, although this did not progress to production.
Seatrobot
Recently I have been working with Seatrobot, a specialised event management and ticket booking service.
I have been involved in the refactoring of their AWS environment; migrating to a CloudFormation provisioned Application Load Balancer before an Auto Scaling EC2 group; establishing deployment pipelines to the Auto Scaling group; storage and analysis of logs to S3/Athena.
